I regret not open a trampoline play zone earlier
Ever since I was a young kid, trampolines were some of my favorite things to jump on. There was pure magic in bouncing up and down — as if the ocean could make me lighter, less rooted to the earth. It made me smile, and I was flying. When I was aspiring to have my own business and eg credit got up, the first thing that popped into my mind in terms of a fun activity for customers was trampolining. I knew then that I wanted to make a place for kids — and adults, like me who enjoy hopping around get their blood (and heart pumps) going just the way it does in my endless summer childhood memory.
And so, I did something truly thrilling — I opened up a indoor trampoline play zone. So I decided to have a fun, splash of colour designed space with trampolines of various sizes so kids can do high jumps or double flips without having worries as they land straight into foam pit and some interesting obstacle courses that would put them through their paces. I wanted to make a space where kids could meet up and play outside once again. I filled the space with joy and laughter.
But I tell you what, there are Indoor trampoline moments that now the play area is set up where I am like dammit why did it take me so long to open this place.
The thing i Hate about The Play Zone
One of the things I regret just as much is that it wasn't until a few years later then when this business got off its feet. I was feeling anxious and scared for all of the reasons that most people are afraid, when I found my way to starting a business. I wanted to take a baby step before I made that massive leap. Except that every time, I told myself that the perfect hour is around corner!
But I have come to know that there is never a perfect time when it comes to starting new adventures like this. Of course, business comes with its own risks but if you have faith in your idea and are willing to truly work hard for it then success is just a matter of time. I learnt that taking risks is necessary, if you want to chase your dreams.
Why I Wanted To Open The Play Zone Sooner
In hindsight now, I realize how much joy and fun I was missing by refusing to use this play area. I wanted to make happy and secure a zone for childrens jump, play more longer. I could have forged lifelong relationships with the families in my neighborhood, and aid them to create unforgettable memories for their kids that they would hold dearly in their hearts forever.
On top of that, I missed out on all the trampoline park money potential from starting so long before. What I did not know was how much money i could have made and the further opportunity Ihad to expand my play zone even more. If I started earlier, many doors would be open for me now.
Starting the Play Zone Later
Early on in my trampoline business, I could have avoided many of the same obstacles encountered later. For example, when I finally got this location opened up for me, I found other trampoline play zones were already in the area. So I had to compete even more, trying to offer experiences that would bring in families and make my place stand out amongst a horde of the same. It was hard because I was a complete newbie in this industry and needed to pick up everything fast.
Not only was it like starting a start-up, this all happened during a global pandemic. I had to exercise a great amount of caution in everything, there were many rules that I needed to abide by and getting staff was also very difficult. I think if I had started my experimentation earlier, then going through these challenges handling would have been so easy and finding the solutions was no big deal.
Regret I had by Waiting
Fear and hesitation have meant looking back to see that I allowed my dreams to pass me by. I could have helped my own community in such a great way by giving the people something fun for families to enjoy. It was a mistake to wait until it became difficult; I wish, in retrospect, that we had done so long before.
But even with these regrets, I am so glad that I eventually took the plunge and opened my business. The indoor trampoline excitement and joy on kids faces as they jump like rockets in our trampoline zone. This news served as a bright point in our day, because at least it's comforting knowing we are doing some good. While I do regret not opening this trampoline park sooner, it feels good to have at the very least finally listened critical suggestion that lead me down a path for my business and community.
This is super important to remember and definitely something that we know well at RISEN — take risks (in a good way) go after your dreams.
