‘One Nation One Election’ committee. likely to submit report today The high level committee on ‘One Nation One Election’ could submit its report today to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. The committee, it be recalled, is headed by former President, Ram Nath Kovind. The committee is going to recommend simultaneous parliamentary, state and local bodies elections to prevent disruption to the economy due to frequent polling. It is learnt that the committee might suggest ways to begin holding simultaneous polling from 2029 and also prescribe how to go about it. The committee has had widespread interaction with the stakeholders of the country’s electoral processes.
