Best P-33 Strategies for Helldivers 2 U4N
The P-33 Missile Pistol is a compact secondary weapon that delivers surprisingly heavy firepower for its size. Added through the Exo Experts Premium Warbond, it gives players a portable option for dealing with heavily armored enemies while keeping their main support weapon available for another purpose. Understanding its role is especially useful for players managing Helldivers 2 Super Credits and deciding which equipment and Warbond options fit their preferred playstyle.
Unlike most secondary weapons, the P-33 is built around powerful single shots rather than rapid fire. Each rocket deals 1,300 total damage, made up of 1,000 direct impact damage and 300 explosive damage. The weapon holds one rocket in the chamber and carries three additional rounds, giving it only four shots before its ammunition is depleted.
Know What the P-33 Does Best
The P-33 is most effective when reserved for valuable targets. Its projectile has Anti-Tank I penetration, rated at AP5, while the explosion provides Medium penetration at AP3. Because direct impact damage is considerably stronger, accurate aiming can make a major difference.
This also explains why the weapon should not be treated as a normal sidearm. Clearing small groups of enemies with it may feel satisfying, but doing so can quickly waste ammunition that would be much more useful against a heavy target.
The reload system reinforces this limitation. After every shot, another rocket has to be loaded individually. There is no large magazine to support repeated firing, so players need to consider their next target before pulling the trigger.
Pick the Right Targeting Mode
The P-33 offers two firing modes, giving it flexibility at different distances. Guided mode can acquire medium and large targets within a range of about 100 meters. Once locked, the rocket can track moving targets, making it useful when an enemy is difficult to hit manually.
This feature is particularly convenient against Automaton Gunships. Their movement can make direct aiming challenging, especially when several enemies are attacking at once. Guided fire allows the player to focus more on positioning while the rocket handles much of the tracking.
Unguided mode is better suited to players who prefer complete control. The rocket travels along a straight trajectory and can reach targets at distances of up to 200 meters. It also avoids the approximately 0.88-second lock-on delay, allowing an experienced player to fire immediately at a known weak point.
Take Advantage of Automaton Weak Spots
The P-33 has several strong applications against Automatons. Gunships can be destroyed with a single well-placed rocket, giving players a compact answer to an airborne threat. Fabricators can also be attacked from a distance when an unguided projectile is accurately sent into their vulnerable vents.
Hulks are another excellent target. A direct unguided shot into the eye visor can destroy one immediately. This requires considerably more precision than simply locking onto the target, but successful hits make the limited ammunition worthwhile.
Tanks and turrets can also be attacked through their rear cooling vents. Two unguided rockets placed correctly can destroy these targets. Since that consumes half of the P-33's total ammunition, however, players should make sure the target is genuinely threatening before committing both shots.
Apply the Same Precision Against Terminids
The weapon remains useful during Terminid operations as well. Bug holes can be sealed from a distance, while Spore Towers and Shrieker Nests can be destroyed without requiring the squad to stand directly beside them.
Chargers provide another opportunity for careful P-33 usage. One rocket can strip the armor from a Charger leg, leaving the exposed area vulnerable to additional attacks. Two direct shots into the mouth can also provide a lethal solution when the player has a clear opening.
These applications make the P-33 more versatile than its anti-tank label might initially suggest. It can deal with structures, armored creatures, and elite enemies while remaining available as a secondary weapon.
Save Ammunition for Critical Moments
The four-shot ammunition limit is easily the P-33's biggest weakness. Players who fire rockets at every convenient target may find themselves empty when the squad encounters multiple elite enemies.
A better approach is to treat each rocket as a limited resource. Ordinary enemies should generally be handled with the primary weapon, grenades, or other equipment. The P-33 should come out when a high-value target appears or when a dangerous situation requires an immediate solution.
Squad coordination can make the weapon even more useful. If another player already has a reliable anti-tank weapon, there may be no reason to spend a P-33 rocket on the same target. Saving it for a second threat can provide the team with another emergency option.
Build Around Its Specialist Role
The P-33 works particularly well in loadouts where the primary weapon handles regular enemies and another piece of equipment supports crowd control. This arrangement allows the Missile Pistol to remain dedicated to heavy targets rather than forcing it into a general combat role.
Its effectiveness ultimately comes from making four rockets count. Players who learn enemy weak spots, switch intelligently between guided and unguided fire, and avoid unnecessary shots can get considerable value from such a small weapon. For players assembling specialized loadouts and looking for additional equipment options, HD2 Items can also be part of preparing for different mission types.
