What Comes Next for MapleStory Classic World | U4N

The closed testing period for Global MapleStory Classic World has officially come to an end, bringing players one step closer to the permanent release. For anyone preparing to start fresh, the upcoming launch is also a good time to think about early progression, including how to manage MapleStory Classic World Mesos once the full game becomes available.

Two Closed Tests Set the Foundation

Nexon held two separate Closed Online Tests during 2026. Both were designed to recreate the nostalgic experience of the original MapleStory while adding selected modern improvements. The first test ran from April 14 through April 23 and concentrated on the game's basic systems, Maple Island, and Victoria Island.

The first test also had a level cap of 50, giving participants enough room to experience the early progression loop without opening too much of the game at once. It served as an initial look at how the classic experience would work in the modern version.

The Second Test Expanded Further

The second Closed Online Test took place from August 4 through August 12 and introduced a much broader selection of content. Compared with the first test, it supported macOS, added full controller integration, and opened additional locations, including Orbis and El Nath.

Players were also able to experience the 3rd Job Advancement during the second test. The level cap was raised to 100, allowing testers to explore considerably more progression and get a better understanding of the longer-term gameplay structure.

These additions made the second test feel much closer to a wider release environment. Instead of focusing mainly on the opening stages, players could experience more systems, areas, and character development before the testing period ended.

Test Progress Will Not Carry Over

One important detail is that character progress from both Closed Online Tests was completely wiped after each test concluded. Levels, characters, and other progression earned during testing will therefore not transfer into the permanent version.

However, some testing achievements were recognized with permanent rewards. Players who reached Level 10 or Level 15 and completed event quests such as A Strange and Familiar Wood could receive exclusive Classic Beginner Label and Chat Rings. These rewards are intended to remain available when the game officially launches.

For testers, this means the time spent participating in the closed tests was not entirely temporary. Although normal character progression was reset, qualifying players could still earn special cosmetic-style items to take into the launch period.

Preparing for the Permanent Release

With both testing phases now finished, attention is shifting toward the official release. Players who did not participate in the closed tests will not need to worry about missing permanent character progression, since everyone will be starting the launch version under the new release schedule.

Founder's Access is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The Grand Launch will then follow on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. This gives players a clear timeline for planning their return to the classic-style MapleStory experience.

A Fresh Start for Everyone

The transition from testing to launch should also create a more meaningful beginning for players who have been waiting for the full release. The closed tests allowed Nexon to introduce features gradually, gather feedback, and expand the playable content between April and August.

Now that testing has concluded, the permanent release will provide the real starting point for long-term characters and progression. Players can use the information learned from the two tests to plan their early routes, understand the available areas, and decide how they want to approach character development.

What Players Can Expect at Launch

The upcoming release combines the familiar foundation of an older MapleStory experience with several modern conveniences introduced during testing. The expanded second test showed that the project is moving beyond a simple recreation, with support for macOS, controller functionality, additional regions, and later job progression.

For returning players, that combination may make the launch feel familiar without being completely identical to the game they remember. For newcomers, the permanent release offers an opportunity to experience the classic progression structure from the beginning without having to participate in a previous testing phase.

As October approaches, players have a relatively short window to prepare for the new adventure. Those looking to save time during the early stages can also explore reliable options for MapleStory Classic World Mesos for sale and plan their resources before diving into the permanent world.
