The fact that there are so many new bowl games to anticipate this season has been one of the more thrilling aspects of it. Each of the three bowl games—the Retro Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, and the Fiesta Bowl—has its customs, ambiances, and bowl game experiences. You will have a lot to look forward to if, like me, you are an ardent college football fan. Almost every major college program will participate in one or more of these historic matchups throughout the season, as there are 12 bowl games scheduled for this season. Yeah, it's going to be another bowl game season! And we truly mean it when we say "once again"
When 12 teams faced off in bowls across the nation in 2014, college football fans were last treated to a season full of postseason action. Teams no longer required an automatic bid to compete in bowls, ushering in an unparalleled era of National Championship Football with the move from 11 a side to 12 a side. Now that we have returned to our starting point four years ago, let's examine what this 2017 season will need to do to truly live up to its moniker: The Era Of retro bowl Games!
