Frame was not just about aesthetics; it was a technological marvel equipped with audio capabilities and featured a voice assistant named Noa, along with an AI search engine called Perplexity. These glasses catered to individuals who wore prescription lenses and sought seamless integration of advanced technology into their everyday eyewear.

The launch of Frame came at a time when the market was witnessing a surge in AI-enabled eyewear products from various companies. Competitors like Humane with their AI Pin, Rabbit’s R1, and Apple’s Vision Pro were all vying for a share of the burgeoning market. Brilliant Labs’ Frame stood out by offering an open source solution, ensuring that developers could continuously innovate and enhance the product's capabilities.

Prior to Frame, Brilliant Labs had already made waves with the Monocle, an augmented reality (AR) lens that could be attached to traditional glasses. The Monocle, like all of Brilliant Labs' products, utilized open source software, reinforcing the company’s commitment to fostering an ecosystem of shared knowledge and innovation.
