Godber Burnham is a historic mine found near the hills outside of Austin Nevada. It is rarely encountered today as it produced only a handful of gems on a sporadic basis. To find 24 matching gemstones together in one piece is an event in itself and we doubt another necklace of this quality exists. The natural cabochons are deep blue with some green tint surrounding deep black and reddish-brown spiderweb matrix. Navajo jeweler Leonard Nez has set each of the stones in hand made bezels surrounded in twist wire with smooth silver droplets at the ends. The Naja is the perfect centerpiece and matches the squash blossoms in detail and appearance. The necklace is a collaborative effort with Margaret Lee who hand made the fine heavy beads.
