I already have my application design ready. How much should I budget for the contracts?

The smart contract development cost depends mainly on the functionality and complexity of the contracts. A simple token contract with basic functions can be relatively straightforward, while contracts for staking, lending, governance, automated trading, liquidity pools, or complex financial applications require considerably more engineering.

The number of contracts is only one consideration. Developers also need to account for contract interactions, access controls, transaction logic, gas optimization, upgrade mechanisms, and potential security vulnerabilities.

Development is also only one part of the investment. Testing and security review are extremely important when contracts interact with user funds or valuable digital assets. Depending on the project, you may need extensive test coverage, code review, penetration testing, or an independent security audit.

A basic contract might cost a few thousand dollars, while complex DeFi or financial contracts can require tens of thousands of dollars or more.

When requesting a quotation, ask whether the price includes development, testing, deployment, optimization, documentation, and security auditing.

For applications handling significant user assets, security should be considered part of the initial project budget rather than treated as an optional feature that can be added later.
