If we talk about China, off late there is a tussle with India with regards to the increasing population. Since the population is relatively higher in the country, the demand for vehicles is also on the rise. Where there are vehicles, there will be increased levels of pollution, and China is not an exception to that. With the governments all over the world being very vigilant about reducing the pollution levels, many initiatives are taken by them.

One such initiative, if we talk is the fast acceptance of electric vehicles. In this blog, we will not talk about the penetration of electric vehicles in China in general, but specifically about the increasing demand for electric scooters and motorcycles in the country.

Increasing Popularity of E-Scooters and Motorcycles in China

Especially talking of China, the popularity of electric scooters and motorcycles is much higher than that of the electric four wheelers. Talking of the reasons about the same is the affordability of the e-scooters and motorcycles as opposed to the four-wheelers, and another one is the traffic jams on the roads of the major cities.

Having an electric scooter or a motorcycle, up the sleeve the people can benefit themselves and also play a positive role toward the environment. Firstly, it will be easy to find a way through the traffic jams, if you are on a two-wheeler, and secondly, since they are powered by electricity, there will be no toxic emissions polluting the environment.

Government Providing Subsidies on Buying Electric Scooters and Motorcycles

It has been discussed in the earlier part that the government are introducing initiatives to popularize the use of electric scooters and motorcycles, what are they?  Many of the people say that the electric two wheelers much more expensive than the conventional fuel-powered two wheelers, and they are also true to an extent.

But to deal with this issue, the government of China is giving subsidies to people for buying the electric two-wheelers and not the conventional fuel-powered ones.  Not only that, the government has also formulated favorable regulations to boost the sales of electric two-wheelers for This has made the people more interested in buying the electric scooters and motorcycles, as they only have to pay the subsidised amount of the vehicle and not the MRP.

Improving Battery Swapping Infrastructure

The electric scooters and motorcycles are both powered by rechargeable batteries. The decreasing cost of batteries and the improving battery swapping infrastructure in the country has also played a vital role in boosting the use of electric scooters and motorcycles. Apart from that the manufacturers are trying their best to improve the range of the batteries and also decrease the charging time significantly.

The best will be that, when they are able to bring down the charging time of the batteries, preferably to a couple of minutes.

But, having said that, the battery swapping infra has improved and so the demand for electric scooters and motorcycles  in China.
