Amazfit holds an interesting place in the market when it comes to smartwatches. It is different from some of the flagships in that it is a Chinese Brand, which is usually considered a grade below flagship or even in the affordable category. Even if that is true, an Amazfit smart watch has so much to offer that it should not be ignored.

These watches are some of the best options for people in Pakistan, where a lot of the flagships can come with very high price tags compared to other markets. Chinese products being much closer to us can be a much better option for the average person to buy.

With that in mind, in this blog, we will tell you about the two best Amazfit watch options on the market right now.

Amazfit Smart Watch Options

There are two main options right now when it comes to buying a top-of-the-line Amazfit watch: the Amazfit GTR 4 and the Amazfit GTS 4. These two watches are different in some aspects and similar in others, so let us lay them out for you, and you can decide what is the best option for you to buy.

Amazfit GTR 4

The first on our list of best options for an Amazfit smart watch is the GTR 4.

Design and Hardware

Starting off with the design, the GTR 4 follows the Samsung and otherwise Android-specific watch design philosophy of circular watch shapes more akin to traditional analog watches. And in our honest opinion, it is one of the better-looking options in this category.

The watch is a bit on the heavier side but still decently comfortable to wear for multiple hours at a time. The watch diameter is also quite big, meaning people who often complain about watch displays being too small will probably be quite happy with this watch.

The annoying bit for some people might be that the thickness of this watch is divided into two halves: an upper aluminum half and a lower polycarbonate half. This combination, which is most likely a big reason for the cost savings that this watch offers, also means that the watch is almost half an inch thick, more than the majority in the category. But if you can get over the thick looks, you should be fine.

Coming to the sensors, on top of the common accelerometer and the gyroscope, you will find other niche sensors as well, including a geomagnetic sensor, barometric sensor, and light sensor. The new sensors are also able to measure your heart rate and blood oxygen continuously.

An impressive aspect is the inclusion of built-in GPS. Something that by itself puts this watch above much of the completion. Not only that, the GPS is multiband, which means that it works well in problematic environments like forests and mountains. This multiband functionality is not even found in most flagships, let alone watches at this price range.

Feature Set

The funny thing about the GTR 4 is that people often complain that there are too many features to be able to work with. The watch mirrors most everyday watch notification-type functions, like messages, alarms, timers and stopwatches. Quick replies are a welcome addition (only on Android).

A very useful feature of this watch is that you can use it to ping your phone, which means that if you lose your phone, you can use your watch to ring it and then find it (why doesn’t every watch come with this built-in?).

The watch works with Alexa for voice-assisted functioning, which isn’t the best but better than having nothing at all, considering this is a Chinese watch. Alexa will answer basic questions and help you control your home smart devices, as well as, of course, watch-specific functioning like starting a workout and other such things.

Now, coming to the fitness side of things, there is the usual heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation tracking, and stress levels. But the interesting thing is that it also has very detailed sleep metrics and tracking, something that is a rare sight at the level of detail that it is here. There are special alerts for when one of the more essential metrics, like your heartbeat or your blood oxygen saturation, goes to an extremely high or extremely low level.

The majority of these health features are associated with the Zepp companion app that comes with the GTR 4. The Zepp app is a very soberly designed app without any flashy aspects, but that just means that it is easier to read.

Battery

Another place that the Amazfit will amaze you is the battery life that comes with it. Compared to the top dogs that only offer 24-hour battery life, the Amazfit GTR 4 is able to get you somewhere in the range of 10-12 days of battery life on a single charge, depending on usage.

The charging is regular speed, no fast charging like the flagships, but two hours for a full charge is a respectable ‘normal’ in our opinion, especially considering most people charge their electrical devices at the end of the day anyway, so it should not be an issue for most people.

Price

This is the part that will shock you the most. The Amazfit GTR 4 can be found in Pakistan for an average price of Rs. 45,000 in most places. Comparing this to flagships like Samsung, whose watches are usually at 60-70k minimum, you can see that this watch is a great, affordable option for most people.

Amazfit GTS 4

Now we come to the other major option for an Amazfit watch in Pakistan, the GTS 4.

Design and Hardware

The GTS 4, in contrast to the GTR, follows Apple's popularized design philosophy of square or rectangular watch design. Depending on your taste, you might find this to be the better option. What cannot be denied is that many people think that the metrics and other watch functionality just look better on a rectangular display.

The watch comes in a choice of either Black, Pink, White, or Brown, the last one having a nylon strap interestingly, while the other three come with the stereotypical silicone.

The watch is built almost entirely out of aluminum, with a stainless-steel rotating crown on the right side of it, and the bottom is made of plastic. All of this basically means that the watch is much lighter than its bigger brother, meaning that you can wear it for pretty much the whole day without even feeling that much.

Features

This watch also runs on Zepp, which means that third-party apps are not a thing. But as shown earlier, you won’t miss much. Notifications and even replying to people via your watch are all here, and so is Alexa functionality, which is accessed by long pressing the button of the watch,

The fitness tracking is also the same, if not better, with over one hundred and fifty different workout modes that, beyond the basics, include such niche activities as dancing and even chess, surprisingly enough. A lot of the more common kinds of workouts will be auto-detected and tracked by the watch, making for a much more seamless experience compared to a lot of watches.

Price

Interestingly, there is little difference in price between these two watches. You can also find the Amazfit GTS 4 at an average price of around Rs. 45,000. So the choice is really just which watch you like more.

Closing Thoughts

People often ignore Chinese watches because they are thought to be a step lower than the flagships, but getting an Amazfit watch might be a great option considering the Amazfit watch price in Pakistan and the features that you get.
