Gulf Shores, Alabama's tagline, "Small Town, Big Beach," is partially inspired by the town's several miles of dordle white-sand shoreline, which visitors may enjoy year-round. There are many more family-friendly things to do in Gulf Shores besides relaxing on the beach. You may spend a few hours visiting the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo or spend a few days camping, fishing, and exploring the park's 25 miles of paved walking and bike trails at Gulf State Park.

Visitors to Charleston may choose from a variety of beachside areas, such as the touristy Folly Beach or the secluded Kiawah Island. Locals love Sullivan's Island because it's just the right size: it has 2.5 miles of beaches and a wide variety of stores and restaurants. The Obstinate Daughter, Poe's Tavern, and Home Team BBQ are great places to eat after a day at the beach, however you may have to wait for a table during high season.

Skip Miami Beach and travel west instead. Sanibel Island is a relaxed representation of a Florida beach town, yet it's just about 20 miles from Fort Myers. There have been tremendous attempts to preserve the island's natural resources after Hurricane Ian passed. Sanibel is the best site in the world to go seashell hunting. Tourists go to its renowned shores in search of unusual shells, and the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum is an essential stop for anybody interested in learning more about their finds.
