In the clutch, it was Canyon Berry, the son of National Basketball Association (NBA) Hall of Famer Rick Berry, who saved the day.

Berry was sharp against France, scoring 16 points (4-for-4 on 2-pointers, 1-for-4 on 3-pointers and 4 free throws) and 14 points (3-for-6 on 2-pointers, 2 free throws) against China.

It was a valuable two-game winning streak for the team, which has been accomplished without a replacement in the absence of shooter Jimmer Fredette due to injury, along with Rahim Maddox and Dillon Travis.

According to US outlet ESPN, Berry said: "It's fun to win in the Olympics. I'd say there's not many better feelings," Berry exulted.

"It's tiring, it's brutal," he said of the criticism directed at him during the losing streak, "but we're Olympic representatives. It's obviously not an ideal situation, but you have to push through. That's what makes being an Olympic representative so special."

"It's unbelievable," Travis said of Berry's incredible performance, "I don't know. "I don't know, it was like he was playing stronger," Travis said of Berry's incredible performance.
