Lee Woo-chan pitched a perfect game to overcome the pain of a walk-off home run.

The LG Twins won the first game of a three-game weekend series against the KIA Tigers of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League 7-6 at Jamsil Stadium on Saturday. The win extended the team's winning streak to two games. The team slowly washed away the pain of the midweek three-game series against the Daegu Samsung Lions.

Things didn't go LG's way in the first game. Starting pitcher Kim Yoon-sik was exploited by the Kia bats and left the mound early after giving up four runs on seven hits with one walk and one strikeout in three innings. The team struggled in the top of the fifth inning, falling behind 1-5.

The LG bats only got on base twice. In the bottom of the fifth, Park Hae-min hit an RBI double and Moon Sung-joo hit an RBI single to cut the deficit to 4-5. In the top of the sixth, Socrates Brito hit an RBI single to make the score 4-6, but the team battled back in the bottom of the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Shin Min-jae and Park Hae-min singled, and when Park Hae-min singled to right, Shin Min-jae took advantage of an overthrown ball by the opposing defense and quickly swept home plate to win the game 7-6.

LG's bats shined in the second half of the game. At the plate, Park Hae-min went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while Oh Ji-hwan, Shin Min-jae, and pinch-hitter Moon Sung-joo fueled the offense with multi-hit performances.

The bullpen also stood out. After starter Kim Yun-sik was pulled early, Kim Dae-hyun (1 run in 1 inning), Jung Woo-young (1 run in 1 inning), Woo Kang-hoon (1 run in ⅔ innings), Lee Woo-chan (1 run in 1 1/3 innings/win), Kim Jin-sung (1 run in ⅔ innings/hold), and Yoo Young-chan (1 run in 1 1/3 innings/save) came in and shut down the Kia bats to preserve the win.

In particular, Lee Woo-chan pitched flawlessly to erase the pain of seeing his team lose 3-7 in the previous game (23rd, Daegu Samsung Electronics) after giving up four runs in 0.2 innings to Lee Sung-kyu.

LG coach Yeom Kyung-yup said after the game, "In a tough situation, Lee Woo-chan and Yoo Young-chan were able to get outs 바카라사이트 and keep the game flowing. I think they will grow to the next level by overcoming a very tough situation," he said.

"In the batting lineup, Oh Ji-hwan and Park Hae-min came alive a little bit and led the batting lineup, which will have a good impact in future games. I would also like to praise all the players for not giving up even in difficult situations and for their focus and concentration to get the win."

The game was sold out (23,750 seats) around 17:03, about an hour and a half earlier than the scheduled start time. Many LG home fans filled the first base and right field bleachers to give the players a victory message. "There were a lot of fans here today (the 26th), and I'm proud that the players repaid them with a good game, and I'm grateful for their enthusiastic support," said Yeom.

LG, meanwhile, announced Dietrick Enns as the starting pitcher for the 27th. Enns had a rough outing in his last start, giving up eight earned runs in five innings in Game 1 of a doubleheader against SSG Landers on the 21st, the most runs allowed in a single game in his KBO debut.

Kia, on the other hand, opted to go with Hwang Dong-ha, who has pitched four scoreless innings in relief in all three games this year. After being a late-season starter last year, he has a big task ahead of him in his first start of the year to stop the team's losing streak.

The second game of the three-game midweek series between LG and KIA is scheduled to take place at 14:00 on the 27th at Jamsil Stadium. The game time has been moved up from 17:00 due to the terrestrial broadcast.
